sadness

I am sad.
My good friend and I finally
had our birthday party today.
It was really fun.
I had bible study tonight.
It was beyond great.
A visiting missionary spoke.
I loved it so.
Then I came home and
received sad news.
Terribly awful, sad news.
My friend lost her son.
He was just finishing his freshman year in college.
I hurt for her.
I cannot help her.
I can only pray.
And pray.
And pray.
Please lift this family in prayer
 during these sad and hard days ahead.

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God.
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
 Psalm 62:5-8

  2. It makes my heart hurt when I hear of a parent losing a child. I'll hold your friend and her family up in prayer and send them thoughts of peace.

  4. Janie, I assume you are friends with Susan? My mom works for Bill and I knew of this the morning after. I am friends with her sister, Elisa. That is a call no mother wants to get, ever. I hurt for her, too. I hope she and her family can feel the love and sympathy we are sending. I'll continue to pray for her and the family, as well as her son.

  5. Janie, I will keep your friend & family in my prayers that God will comfort them during this valley in their lives. May the peace that passes all understanding be theirs now.

  8. I'm so sorry...we went through something similar last year when two of our children's friends were killed by their father, who then shot himself. It's horrible, unspeakable, and my greatest fear. My prayers go out to your friend (and to you too).
