No thank you.

I am approaching 53 in a very few months.
I feel bad about my waist.
I am eating better.
I am doing Brazilian Butt Lift.
Some days, a Brazilian Butt Wax
would be a lot less painful.
14 days of vacation in Nov.
didn't do me any favors...
but I am back in the workout saddle.
I feel bad about my neck.
Then I watched some TV.
It changed my attitude.
First,
the Hallmark movie
The Town That Christmas Forgot.
Starring Lauren Holly.

I didn't recognize her.
I had to read the guide to realize
who she was.
Familiar but weird.
  She has morphed into Reba,
and Meg Ryan.

Then I saw Melissa Gilbert.
Ditto.

 Then the final straw...
Marie Osmond.

They all look the same.
Looks kinda familiar, eh?
So I embracing the wrinkles.
I am owning the neck.
I may not love it
but I think it beats the plastic.
What do you think?

2012 I'll be hitting 55 . . . pretty scary. I didn't think I would make it this far. Face wise I'm hanging in there. God I miss those days of no lines or wrinkles. Blessings, Sandy:O)

yes...Meg looked better before her work...Melissa Gilbert drank the Koolaid....I dont get it...They look like comic book characters.
I wonder if people in Hollywood think we look just as weird as we think they look

Don't forget Sharon Osborne. Met her last year. She looked younger than me. Freaky. I'm not about to go for that either. It really looks better to age gracefully than to fight it with knives and needles. Vacation is a killer for the waist line. So is moving:(

They never look younger, do they?

Why, why, WHY do they do that? I would rather grow old with dignity than have freaky fish lips and a frozen, plastic and not necessarily young-looking face.

I agree with you! We should all embrace the beauty that God has given us. Theres a reason that they all look freakish (for lack of a better word), we were ment to age. Besides, your beautiful and shouldn't second guess that or even think of altering your appearance.

I agree also. It is what it is. No matter what .....big fat lips are unattractive and the age always shows in the neck anyway.

HOORAY to embracing your natural beauty.

Have you read Nora Ephron's book "I Feel Bad About My Neck"?

It is uber-fabulous just like you. And costs way less than a candlestick from Anthropologie.

Highly recommend it for self-esteem after a certain age...

I'm right behind you lady. This decade's flying fast and my neck is on the loose.

SO to speak.

My sister & I talk all the time about how everyone in Hollywood looks like the joker!!
2012~(like I did in 2010, 2005, 1996..)
I am committing to better eating habits, moving my ass more & living my dreams. It's about damn time too!!

I agree, a few lines are better than a scary-mask face.

IT BEATS THE HELL OUT OF PLASTIC. Marie's lips? Seriously? Awful. And she's a beautiful woman. Embrace it. I'm right behind you at 45, and I don't love it, but I love the alternative less.

Yes the book recommended above is great! I don't like my neck so I just drink wine and don't look at it.

I L.O.V.E.D. that book. I laughed so hard tears ran down my legs! I want to give it to every gal pal who hits this age...you know...you pass a mirror and either don't look or say.."OMG...is that ME...whose neck is that???"
