Country Boy

We started out at the creek/crick
this morning.
It was chilly and
rain was expected.

We were told that when a pine tree
is cinnamon colored it is 150+ years old.
This tree was huge.

And it was growing out of this...
Oh yes, Farm Boy did.
I came down the hill to this sight.

Nice.
You can take him outta the country.
but you can't take country outta him.
There are lots of warning signs
about littering.
 Notifications to not take plants,
pick flowers and
to leave things as you found them.
No signs about public urination.
Obviously, Stuart is a stickler for the rules.
After the rain started
we took a drive and
hit some shops.
It has been a good trip.
We have had a wonderful time.
Tomorrow we return to Phoenix
to catch our flights on Sunday.
I will be smelling babies very soon.
That is the berries.

I've been reading your blog for awhile now (daughter's too ~ love 'em) & I swear I feel like I want to be at your house to welcome you home! I love going on vacation but more than that, I love coming home. Dropping the bags in the living room, hugging loved ones, gathering around the kitchen table for coffee & cake & stories & laughter. Oh..do I want to be there with you! Enjoy the rest of your trip & may the second you walk through your front door be everything you want it to be & more.
Hugs,
Maria

HA! Hubby loves your blog now too cause he'd fit right in! ;-P ALL your pics are great. Understanding your homesickness... It's a hard time of year to be away... My folks took me "on vacation" most years for Christmas. Hated. It. Wishing you a safe trip back and berry warm homecoming!

That reminds me of a certain man I'm married to. It horrifies me to repeat the places that man has peed.

You know why I love you so much? Cause you go on vacation and cry in roman bath tubs cause you miss home. Now THAT's a kindred spirit if I ever did know one. I miss you. I miss you and your hair products, your bling, your sparkly bags and your tender heart. Pray thee tell me that I'll see you soon.
