Home

I am so grateful to be in my home this evening.
No place feels as welcome.
Ollie is home.
She looks amazing.
I didn't realize how un-pink she was
until I have seen how pink she is now.
She is absolutely gorgeous.
She is her old smiling, cooing,
trying-to-talk self now.

Today as we waited for the paperwork
and things to get rolling for our release
I told the kids about the OB
I had had when I had the twins
at Children's 27 years ago.
He was movie-star handsome
and so very wonderful during that hard time.
I said Annie had asked about him at the hospital
at one of her appointments
and he is a big deal there now.
Jade went to get their stuff
out of my hotel room and load it up.
When he got back I was going to go get mine.
Right before I started to go I got a text.
It said "Don't let your mom leave, Dr. Crane may call"
I said to Jade "did you mean to send this to me?"
His eyes teared up and he said "Dang it, did I send that to you?"
He was so ticked at himself.
I was so touched.
He went to the information desk and
called Dr. Crane's office.
He talked to his secretary and related the story.
She said he had a full day of meetings,
but he would try to call.
He didn't call before we left,
but Jade doing that for me
meant so much more
than any doctor's call.
It moves me that
he was so disappointed that he texted me
and ruined the surprise
that his eyes filled.
I told him I would rather have known anyway
so I wouldn't be a rambling goof on the phone.
Isn't he the sweetest?!
I am proud he is my son(in-law).
He is a great husband and
a wonderful dad to my grand kids.
Ruby, you did good girl.
But, I still have to tell a story or two about ya.
You can thank me later.
Or hit me, whichever.

Isn't it amazing that all this has happened within a week and Ollie (and the rest of you) are all back home. She looks beautiful even more beautiful than the story about your SIL. That brought a tear to my eye. So sweet. Ann
